Cisco Meraki is a supplier of corporate segment network equipment for large-scale projects.
The company’s products include wireless communications, switching, security and surveillance cameras, all of which are centrally managed from the Internet.
Last week, Cisco engineer-consultant Victor Platov said on his Linkedln profile that Cisco had taken control of the Meraki devices, removed administrators from it and reconfigured the network for open access so that anyone could connect and access the corporate network. All of this happened without notifying the owner.
Representatives said it was done at Cisco’s discretion. All models of Cisco web devices are now blocked in the Russian Federation and broadcast an open network like: “12345-Sanctions”.
